Ich verstehe den Schritt nicht. Wir haben $Q^T Q = I$ , aber wie folgt daraus die Aussage?

$\det(Q^T Q) = \det(I) = 1$

Und dann?

Du bist fast am Ziel! Nutze die Multiplikativität der Determinante:

$\det(Q^T Q) = \det(Q^T)\,\det(Q) = \det(Q)^2 = 1$

weil $\det(Q^T) = \det(Q)$ . Aus $\det(Q)^2 = 1$ folgt direkt $\det(Q) = \pm 1$ .
